Just Point and Sign was written to help educate the growing industry of mobile loan closers (signings). The book has application across the board at all levels from the lender’s level all the way to the field level.

How can one book apply across the board?

• At the lender level this book is a great tool for a new loan officer or mortgage broker to utilize in understanding what the final loan package may look like, understand the various documents and their function so if a borrower calls during their right to cancel, the loan officer or mortgage broker can help the borrower have a better understanding of the documents from a non-legal standpoint.

• At the title company level this book is a great tool to train new closers in understanding where the gray areas are to avoid them, understand each document and be able to explain to the borrower what he/she is signing during the closing process.

• At the signing company level this book is a great tool to assist in understanding the parameters in which a closing is conducted to prevent the common illegal requests from being made (which aids in protecting the lender and the title company from law suits), and to assist a closer that may have questions during a closing (which again aids the lender and the title company in preventing redraws, loans not closing due to inadequate information because a loan officer or title closer in the office is not available to contact to get the more common questions answered).

• At the field level this book is a great tool to train a new closer whether they are working in a title office or traveling to a borrower’s home/office to provide full disclosure during the closing process, explain the documents presented in the loan package, the importance of signing process and that it is conducted correctly.

Just Point and Sign has an extensive twenty-four (24) page glossary of terminology used in this industry, seventy-three (73) loan documents annotated and highlighted with an explanation of what should be pointed out to the borrower prior to their signing each document with all the details the closer should pay close attention to ensure a successfully signed loan package. There is also a Frequently Asked Question section pertaining specifically to potential general notarial questions and closing/signing questions.
